The Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life is a celebration of survival and a tribute to the lives of loved ones who have been touched by cancer. Twelve hours of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. Relay is happening in Bracebridge on June 10-11 at the Bracebridge Fairgrounds. There are lots of ways to get involved including put together a team, volunteering at the event, or purchasing a luminary in honour of someone you know who has been touched by cancer. 13 - 25 - Muskoka Games for Seniors. Bracebridge Culture and Recreation is partnering with the Muskoka Games for Seniors to offer events all over Muskoka. The games are open to anyone 55 years of age and over, living in Muskoka. The games are designed to encourage participation, enjoyment in sport, and an opportunity to meet new people and above all to have fun! A one-time fee of $4.00 registers individuals for all of the events. Some of this year's events include: walking; darts; tennis; cribbage; contract bridge; bid euchre; scrabble; shuffleboard; euchre; snooker; horseshoes; bowling; golf tournament (in the fall). The events take place starting at the beginning of June and are held in Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst. The games finish with an awards presentation and closing ceremonies at the end of June in Huntsville.
